The age of the passenger
A child of under five years of age can be carried, on condition he or she is in a special seat fixed to the motorcycle. However, although the French Highway Code authorises this, it is not recommended to carry children of under twelve years of age on a motorcycle; it is, in fact, difficult to find helmets of the right size, as well as suitable protective clothing.
Their physique is more suitable as from this age. There is no age restriction on side-cars, but all passengers must wear a helmet. Mopeds are different: the passenger must be at least 14 years old, like the driver. |
